Work

Work! I will be back to work on Friday, September 2nd.

Am I ready to return back to work? Yes!! OK, maybe not physically because of my arm, but...Emotionally and mentally- I am ready to return back to work!

After physical therapy, my husband took me to a teacher store to purchase an ABC line- NONE LEFT!! ALL GONE!! The store was actually VERY void of teacher material. I don't need many things, but the items that I do need were not available. It turns out I was a few weeks late with my shopping...

I was able to meet with my sub for a few hours...We sort of planned out this week. It will be fine- she's a great teacher!

Tomorrow afternoon I will be going to school to sign in, get my keys, say "Hi" to my administrators, office staff, and friends (colleagues). I'll also finally get to see my last class' State results, and my NEW class list!!

By the way, I am VERY grateful to my administrators for placing an aide in my classroom even if it's only for a week- it'll be such a great help!! She's an excellent aide and a wonderful friend!

In the past, my classroom has always been very colorful, vibrant, and "literate", this year will be different. For the time being, my walls will have to be bare 'til I am able to physically put things up...and I'm NOT going to stress about it.

I'm excited about the new school year- new kids and each with their own challenges, new ideas to put into action with the little ones... a new beginning!

Maybe you can involve the children in the decorating of the room. It might make them feel like it is more their room. Kids like to be asked their opinion, but people rarely ask them.

Just an idea...

Glad to hear you are making progress! :-)

I'm glad you're doing so much better!! I bet the kids would love helping decorate the room. You could assign groups and let them each have a crack at a portion of the room.
