Rosca de Reyes

Rosca de Reyes! Mmm... This morning I went to the Mexican Bakery and placed my order for this delicious sweet bread which is eaten on January 6th.

Now all I need to do is get my shoes ready for the Wise Men's treats for me. OK, so the treats and gifts are for children, but just in case- I'll get my shoes ready.

Remember, be careful when eating the Rosca de Reyes, there is a little plastic baby hidden in there- somewhere! Tradition is that if you get the little doll- you are hosting the party on February 2nd (Dia de la Candelaria)!

I'm hungry just looking at the picture of la rosca. We need to have a cyber rosca and have a party on feb. 2. Please send a slice of the rosca to chicago!

Feliz dia de Reyes! I put my shoe out last night, but didn't get anything... i'm sad. My husband did get something... i wonder if the tres reyes got my change of address card.

I am so jealous, i'm attempting to make my own rosca today, if i fail Upside down pineapple cake it is!

I want to start this tradition too. We never did it as children with my family but I'd love to do it.

It makes more sense to have the Three Wise Men bear gifts of candy than some oversized elf handing out X-boxes all the way from the North Pole!!!

In my family we never told our mother that we did not believe in Santa, for fear of no gifts. Still to this day, Mom sends packages marked from Santa. Guess were still her babies. I know I am.

Cheers

That looks wonderful, and I love the idea of the baby hidden within!
