Up-Date

Where to begin...
the stress, pain, tears, sleepless nights, anguish, guilt, fear, desperation, prayer, and hope. family, friends, support, hugs, prayers, blessings, faith, and love.

My sister is still in the hospital, but doing so much better...
She's getting stronger, and learning how to move so that she doesn't put pressure on her broken femur.

Last night I told my sister that upon leaving the hospital she would be going to my home until she was ready to be on her own...she didn't respond, she just stared at me not knowing what to say. "We'll talk about this later", I said, and moved onto another subject matter of interest- our aunt.

My Tia Elena is now in a residential board & care facility near my home...
I miss her terribly, but I know that this is what is best for her as well as for us at this time.

The caregivers at this home have various activities through out the day for the clients to participate in- morning exercises, karoke, puzzles, and bingo to mention a few. And every Tuesday is "field trip" day!! How fun!! They don't go very far, but still...it's an outing!! It may be only to Wal-Mart, but it's an "outing"!!

Knowing that she is well, and enjoying the company of her new housemates (and caregivers) gives me "peace" of mind. As long as she is happy, so am I. I want only what is best for her.

On a separate note-
Tomorrow is the last day of my writing workshop.
I learned that I am not a reluctant learner...
and that I can actually learn to be a writer.
I also realized that I enjoy writing : )
Hmmm, therefore, I blog : )

So now...
one of my goals as a teacher is to teach my students how to be "writers".

**keshi,
i am seriously thinking of taking a "writing" course...but it probably won't happen until next summer.

**solitaire,
