Friday...FINALLY!

OK, so we've begun the school year... to a bad start.
Very first day, (8:03 am to be exact) parents ( M's mom & dad) were fuming at me.

They (M's parents) and M can't find me, or my class, out in the playground first thing in the morning. Once they figure out that we are in the classroom, the mom comes into my classroom and yells at me because they couldn't find me/us! And yes, she does this in front of my students.

After the mom stops screaming at me, I tell the mom that the child's school day begins at 8 am, and that I will collect the children from the playground at 8 am. I then continued taking roll call and ignored her presence.

She then went to get her husband, (probably from the car) and he too came into my classroom and yelled at me. I looked at him, waited for him to be quiet, and calmly told him also when the student's instructional day begins. At that point, I continued reading the story The Boy Who Would Not Go to School to my class and ignored him.

I hope they went and complained to my administrators.

On a brighter note...
I hope my husband bought us the winning lotto/lottery ticket!!

One of the things I like of being a teacher is you never know exactly what will happen during the class, no matter how well you've prepared it. You can listen to a comment or a joke or suddenly receive something you weren't expecting and it can be quite a rewarding experience as well as a funny or dangerous one. Hope these yelling parents understand what punctuality is and how to threat a teacher... Have a wonderful weekend you too!! (y toda la suerte en la loterĂa!!!)
