Suspended!

It upsets me when I have to remind children about keeping their body safe from strangers, and non- strangers. They're children, for heaven's sake! Children should always be safe, and feel that they are safe!

I had to remind my students:
+what "good" and "bad" touch is
+remember what is "right" and what is "bad"
+listen and trust oneself
+tell an adult if someone has hurt them in any way
+keep telling adults what has happened until someone is able to help you

Student A (my little "thug") touched Student B (sexually) inappropriately...
A wanted to show B how to "grab", "cup", "lift" his crotch-
B didn't know how to, nor was interested in learning how to-
A went into B's pants to show him how-
A started to cry-
Student C saw what was taking place-
C wanted to punch A-
Teacher saw commotion-
Teacher sent A, B, & C to the office-
A was suspended.

*Student A has been seeing the school psychologist for some time now. He is obviously seeing this behavior at home.

In all my teaching years, there have been only 3 other incidents of (sexual) inappropriate touching...and all were involving boys!
+boy rubbing his (exposed) penis against bathroom door

+boy continually rubbing himself against edge of desk and or hard surfaces

+boy uncontrollably placing his hands inside his pants during class time (constantly reminded him to keep his hands on the table where I ccould see them! parents were aware of the situation; took child to doctor; and had child involved extracurricular activities)

i admire you for what you do; I doubt I would last one day, dealing with kids, let alone the disturbed ones.

Wow! My heart goes out to your children and to you! Hey, send me an e-mail (address link on my profile). I'd love to have your address too, if you don't mind. Have a great day!

Kids are weird. I am glad there are wonderful, patient people like you in this world. Seriously. I would freak out if I saw those types of things!
